Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Aftercare is crucial for healing and preserving the quality of your tattoo.
Please follow these instructions carefully.
First 3 Days
-
Gently wash the tattoo 3–4 times a day using warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap
-
Carefully remove all plasma, blood, and sticky residue during washing — this is very important.
-
Pat dry with a clean paper towel and let the tattoo air dry completely.
-
Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor — less is more.
-
For the first three days, wear a clean, absorbent cotton or baby diaper-style wrap:
-
Always use a fresh, clean wrap after each wash.
-
If you are at home or in a clean office environment and the tattoo is not rubbing against clothing, it is better to leave it uncovered so it can breathe.
-
Days 4–14 (Healing Stage)
-
Continue to wash the tattoo 4–5 times a day using mild, fragrance-free soap.
-
After each wash, let the tattoo dry completely.
-
Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor to keep the skin moisturized.
-
During this stage, the tattoo may feel dry, tight, and start peeling — this is normal.
-
Do not scratch, rub, or pick the tattoo.
-
Healing usually takes around 14 days, depending on skin type and placement
What to Avoid
For the first two weeks:
-
Avoid direct sunlight
-
No hot baths, saunas, or swimming
-
Take short, warm showers only
-
Avoid intense physical activity for at least 10 days
-
No sweating — sweat can negatively affect healing
Important Notes
-
Letting the tattoo breathe is essential — over-wrapping or over-applying ointment can slow healing.
-
Everyone heals differently. If anything feels unusual, don’t hesitate to reach out.
